I guess I'm fit into the category of girly girl who loves romantic movie like The Notebook.
Haven't actually read the book but I fell in love with the movie instantly! The idea of undying love which can pass through time melts my heart <3<3 (I cried everytime I watched it)
My most favorite part is of course when Allie and Noah were just teenagers, portrayed perfectly by Rachel Mcadams and Ryan Gosling. They were both very young, but love each other deeply. You surely can't erase the feeling of first love. It will still be there in your heart.
Their relationship has to be over when Allie is forced to move back into the city and all letters from Noah are intercepted by Allie's mother who disapprove Noah because of his background. In the moment of grief, Allie met a charming and wealthy young man and asked for her hand in marriage. Believed her relationship with Noah is over, she said yes.
However fate has its own twist. After seven years, Allie and Noah meet again. You can see the love they are holding on for each other after such a long time. The flame is still there. They still love each other deeply.
In the end Allie has to choose between the man who fill her holes all this time, has been very kind to her through these years, or her first and true love. Her comfort zone or an unexpected ride.
It then flash forwards to the present time where old Noah read to old Allie. The notebook, written by Allie herself about their love journey.
It turns out that Allie has Alzheimer disease and forgets about her life with Noah. He read the notebook to her everyday and she remembers.
Their love surpasses time, challenge of life and even disease. It's unreal yet beautiful. The kind of love that's so strong, nothing can ever stand between them. Undying love <3<3
Where can we find love like this in real life? Or we simply can't, because it only exists in stories.
